Ish,

Have you heard anything from jp? I know if her parents are here, she may have little time for the computer, but we will start worrying soon.

And how are YOU doing-- not just Sue, but Ish.

How are things with the wife, Ish? Do I recall correctly that cleaning stalls is hard on your back? Don't go and get yourself hurt, okay?

Another favorite Mitchell moment. It was one of those that contributed to the connection between us. You know those people that you don't just like, enjoy, share with, do things with.. but you have times that are usually crystalized into a moment. You might remember the whole scene, day, whatever, but there is brief flash of vision and/or sound that is the moment that defines and expresses the whole.
(whew)

*Our* song was "I'll be there for you" by Bon Jovi. Yeah, I know, Bon Jovi. But Mitchell loved the song and it finally infected me and then it was ours. We went for a drive and as we wound along the dirt road through the cove, it came on the radio. Mitchell turned the radio up louder and started singing with a big, beaming smile for me. I joined in, out-of-tune but heartily. Right then I felt that click that went beyond cousinly-love, or friendship with a kid I liked, we formed the tie that would always connect us as he took up residence in own little spot in my soul. I like all the next generation, but he is the only one who I have that particular connection with. There are a couple of the littler tykes I might have it with if I ever spend the time with them. It can take awhile to get to that moment.
