I'm not a bear ... I never shorted DELL, owned it at least 6 times, and just thought yesterday's rally into the release made no sense (last month's excuse was memory, next month's might be disk drives - Maxtor said OEM prices went up over the "last 4 weeks", before they announced a general price increase), and bought November puts. It's just a short term thing. Also, there was no commentary about gigabuys on the cc, so I consider that helped the top line with no or minimal bottom line. Therefore, I think the revenue growth was disappointing, and at FY end it should sell for no more than about 38 or 39 times FY2001 expectations. There are scenarios where it could sell for 20% less than that or 10% more than that, but IMO, the bias is to the downside and the options premiums are very small when you buy against trend with so few trading days to go.
