If true this is indeed stunning news....I noticed Kinkel was just sentenced and although his attorney was claiming a mental defense he never mentioned this ....to my knowledge. << "Guns and Movies don't cause these tragically frequent episodes of frequent and inexplicable violence. >> Perhaps this is so but I suspect the more run of the mill violent crime which altho not as spectacular is the larger problem still may have the above issues as causes.

I'd heard about the SSRI connection too, but there is one point that I think is missed with this. Most troubled kids are on these drugs. My folks tried to put me on Prozac because I was diagnosed ADD. I told them that I wasn't taking any head drugs, and that if they wanted me on it, they'ld have to institutionalize me. Since they didn't want to go that far, I got to avoid becoming one of the mindless zombies roaming America. But, most other kids don't. Shrinks toss out Prozac and Zolof like its a friggin after dinner mint. At least half of my high school buddies were on one of these two or Ritilan. But hey, when your folks grow up dosing acid at the stones concert, I guess they lose some of their good judgement. I don't know if these drugs contributed to any of these shootings. My gut feeling is that they didn't, and the fact that the kids were all taking them is just because troubled kids are the type who are likely to shoot up a school. There haven't been any starting quarterbacks on a shooting spree yet, at least not to my knowledge.
