Valuation is just one analyst's opinion.... JP Morgan's valuation of Ciena is skewed towards CoreDirector because of the stir on Wall Street for new optical IPO's. DWDM is old news to analysts on The Street, so I think we are seeing them (in this case JPM) pander to the public's appetite for new technologies along the line of Sycamore networks and Juniper. It is nice, however, to have the upgrade and the extended price target. Never hurts to see a little validation of one's investment convictions.
