Who wins when life goes digital?
I'm also raising my target price on Wind River Systems <http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/research/profile.asp?Symbol=WIND> (WIND <http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/research/newsnap.asp?Symbol=WIND>). The stock actually punched through my $30 target price on both Nov. 9 and 10, although it failed to close above that level on either day. Analysts expect that Wind River has had a strong quarter and I think it's possible the company will surprise when it releases earnings Nov. 18. But I think the short-term results are relatively unimportant in this case. The company has recaptured crucial momentum and the deal to acquire Integrated Systems, the No. 2 company to Wind River in embedded operating system software, is a huge plus. I'm raising my target price on Wind River to $40 by April 2000.

*Rumour of the day (Nov 11) RedHat may be buying Cygnus

China,

Thank you for the rumor, which turned out to be real. Saw you on the BroadVision board, and wondering if you want to revisit us here on the WIND thread after a CC that's showing signs of hyper growth to come.

What is your take on the CC if you had a chance to listen? Since you are in Japan, what is your take on Sony's adoption of VxWorks in both its network walkman and cable STB?

Any other rumors you are hearing in Japan?
