Chip,

very interesting article. I'm almost embarrassed to say I agree with most of it -g-. For the sake of my reputation I've been resisting saying I am bullish on the US equity markets -g-. I agree with the points raised in the article. Demographics is something in particular that I have been thinking a lot about. It creates a favourable medium term outlook for the US and is one of the reasons I remain cautious about Japan. I have no view on levels reachable and make no specific forecasts but I do believe that economic conditions, both global and domestic, technology and money flow conditions will remain positive for the US for much of the coming decade.
