I have a difficult time to understand LU's claim " Optical
Router ". As I understand in the past, router is the one
looking into data packets and from the content of data
packet figures out where should the packet sent to. From LU
announcement, I understand it dealt with Lambada of wave
length. It more like a switch than router.

My guess is LU want to use router name because it is
popular. I think all those optical claims is in the area of
fiber transmission ring. It should not be confused with the
real router operation which is in the data packet level.
