Sir Ares, you sound like a guy who understand things more clearly when you can sort them into piles. I'm a bit like that too, so I followed your post with interest.

We seem a bit like "born agains" who not only know which places our money belongs, but why it belongs there and not someplace else. Listen to us. We even reject stocks that are showing good promise on the slender notion that they're not good enough...and we'll tell anyone who asks precisely why. That's why you can, with confidence, lay one on your smug and probably jealous acquaintance...and keep on doing it, this year, the next, and the next. (I envy you all the fun you're going to have with this guy. <ggg>)

On a personal note, I have made at least one useful observation about myself. A year ago, I was constantly checking quotes on stocks that had cost me money in the past. About a week ago, it dawned on me that I'm not doing that anymore....my focus is in the other direction. That's what I meant about "born again."

The techs scare most people big time. Today, most techs scare me....but the some that don't....those are the ones in which my money is actually being protected.

For the newbies who read these posts and shake their heads, just RTFM again, and read the thread start to now. What an education this is!
