I am still looking for an article i read within the past two weeks. It said that each year CSCO gets rid of 5% of its employees, i.e. dead weight-and it does not matter what the position or years of service are.

I read somewhere that Cisco has a no-layoff policy implemented (undoubtedly from Chamber's previous experiences). They must be rotating these employees into one of the many openings in the company, oder? :)

Hi Bob, Yes I saw the John Chamber's interview on either 20/20 or Dateline a few weeks ago and he verified this. It's impressive that management, even in good times, is willing to make the difficult decisions rather than taking the path of least resistance. Rory
