Bosco, In all due respect I would have the post removed. That is one of the most boneheaded articles I can remember reading. You have posted more credible positions here on this thread than the writer of that article. Think about it. The underlying assumption is that investors in high tech haven't done any dd... but investors in other sectors and other industries have. He clearly doesn't understand technology (and says as much) and therefore has assumed no one else does... and then goes on to comment on Nortel's Open IP while presenting incorrect information and postulating an outcome... all the time admitting he doesn't understand technology. Circular file... OG

Bosco - Thank you for posting that article. It is important to understand some of the fundamentals about the technology as well as some of the market fundamentals for the sector in order to make some sense of the literature and make some judgments. It is also important to make judgments about management and their decisions. I recall an interview with David House which took place about the same time as the merger. He made a number of predictions about trends. Everyone of those predictions has come true. I do not have to understand optical switching and routing to decide that Nortel is the leader in optical networking.
