Cloudless, I posted a review of "Pit Bull" earier this year on this DTF thread -- it's back there somewhere in the summer posts. A classic hoot, although I took some flak for enjoying Marty's book (someone even suggested I might be "Marty in disguise"). Turns out, there are only two reactions to Marty when people read his book - love him or hate him! He is a self-described very wild (also very skilled, but wild without a doubt) trader, taking huge positions in the S&P's and Bond Futures... but he always has those gold bars in the vault, though so if he blows up, he can always go get them and trade his way back up! That is his security blanket which allows him to trade that way -- and he's most often right on his biggest gambles. When he's not, he just rebuilds. My favorite belly-laugh in the book was when he is underwater big-time in a key S&P Futures position -- he puts a paper bag over his head, punching out holes to see through and jumps onto a desk in a large room in a NYC financial tower where he was trading, commanding the attention of wall street corporate employees far and wide . "I'm long, I'm wrong, I'm too F--- long" is his stress-relief chant to go with an awkward, disturbing "this loss is killing me" dance from atop the desk. This spontaneous act of relief allowed him to then get ahold of himself and sell off part of the position, then manage it back :) Good vacation/amusement reading, not exactly the same quality as the trading classics, but a lot of fun. In a recent MTA newsletter, someone recounts a recent visit/talk by Marty to an MTA chapter, he was described as equally amusing and charming there. Maybe we'll get him on the thread to share war stories sometime (Marty, are you lurking along with Gary B. Smith?) I'm three weeks behind on reading posts here but am working on catching up. Good trading, -Steve
