Talking about portfolio strategy, we are constantly mentioning the concentration versus diversification dilemma. Doesn't this decision depend on how many years accumulation are at stake? If we are just starting out investing and have saved in our first year, let's say, 2000 dollars, then it makes sense to concentrate on one stock. If it goes to zero we lose one year's savings. Now suppose we have been saving and investing for 40 years and have 2 million dollars. Then if we concentrate on our strongest gorilla, we are risking 40 years of accumulation. So we should diversify in such a case. In between, a mixture. Right?
