Without belaboring the point, or drawing away time from the thread, perhaps the political process carries some of the fault since all federal & most state judges are political appointees and law are drafted and passed by elected officials. Although granted, many of our politicians are lawyers.

I for one agree with you in part. The judicial system ain't perfect and greater access is needed for the "common man." Many judicial proceeding could be more user friendly not only for the layman but for the attorney as well.

Unfortunately, we are a nation and a community of laws. Laws give our society structure and congruence. The only avenue of change is the political arena.

So don't elect lawyers if you feel this will improve things.
