IMO, Test is bogus for those outside of RR network.

I just tested my new GMH "direct pc" sat connection.

Test results:

1,858,812 bytes in 2.74 seconds

throughtput was 674 k bytes / sec

I repeated the test after clearing my pc's cache, had about the same result. reported speed was fine -

BUT

The image took about 25 minutes to load in both cases. I suspect my connection may somehow have a timing problem with acknowledging data packets received from the host computer. This could be due to the 44000 mile round trip distance from the host to the satellite then on to the earth station at my house. The satellite signal is delayed by the long distance, this may cause my land line given ACK to be received at RR host too late. RR host would think I did not get the packet and so it would same one out again.
Anyone else experience a long time for the image to load?
