Oh, sweet sleeping Jesus! I understand where the riding friends are coming from; as I mentioned, I have close friends who are into riding to the point of being "horse mad" IMO.

So all the decisions lie in the future and before you or she makes a decision about her riding--notwithstanding the well-meaning blither from friends--it is important to see how she convalesces and how much recovery she has, which differs from person to person. It is far too early to have any idea of her personal recovery; can you make her see this and concentrate on getting as well as she can as soon as she can rather than making decisions and mourning about the unknown?

The swelling is worse, did anyone give you an indication as to why? Didn't she have a fever before? BTW, in an injury such as this, I am surprised she didn't have a fever yesterday.
