I was thinking about this AMD and Intel thing. Let me ask a hypothetical. If Intel was dropping prices to the point where it was just going to break-even, wouldn't the Justice Dept. be after them for anti-trust moves (pricing to quash competition). AMD prices their chips hundreds of dollars cheaper than Intel not because their costs are less but because that's the only way they can sell them. Justice doesn't go after AMD because they force Intel to cut prices on their profitable products.
