aj - Re: "If Intel offers a deal to someone it's an incentive. If AMD offers a deal to someone it's a glut. "

You must be JOKING !

Intel offers deals - deals to their customers who are PC manufacturers who buy 2 or 3 MILLION PROCESSORS per customer per quarter !

While AMD offers deals to individual floor clerks and sales-bozos that roam the aisles in a Bets Buy.

DO you think those clerks and sales bozos would have any idea what to do with an ATHLON and a Motherboard ?

Good grief, MAN - why do you think they work at Best Buy !!!!

Paul

ajb, They call it double speak in the propaganda handbook, the one from the late 30's and early 40's.
I can see seeding the best buy people with Athlons at a discount is a good way to get them familiar with the parts and then their impressions will be amplified manfold.
Intel also has an incentive program..they offer a reward to anyone who can find one....millions made....all scrapped or run away.
