Hi Pal,

I like your symbolism but with me it is a matter of dynamics,

To me there are three dynamics to a split with each consisting of vital components.

The first is the Inside of the Split, it is in this period to me that the BOLD moves should be made, for it is in this dynamic that you receive the greatest safety margin and the greatest psychology component.

The second is the Floor of the Split, at what multiple will the split occur. Extremely critical for Margin players like me, the lower the floor the better for us. Leverage works both ways you know. On 100%margin, everything being equal, when a stock declines 25% you lose half of your equity, 50%, you've lost it all, NOW multiply that by four come split time just from a leverage standpoint. PEOPLE BEWARE IF YOU ARE USING MARGIN, these are the people the MM's really go after.

The third is The Outside of the Split, it is at this juncture that I begin to solidify my gains and start looking for that source of Psychological Insulation called Leaps or simply exercising my options, sitting back and enjoying the fruits of my labor and gamble!

Most of the people I run into seem to think sudden good fortune will continue on an ever ascending scale, trust me it won't and this stock is no exception. Had an individual that took $20,000 to $900,000 in a matter of about six weeks on AOL options, you know how much he had left three weeks later, $40,000. QCOM's day is going to come!
