mike, an interesting anecdote. i'm out looking for work due to lack of career growth opportunities at my current company. i interviewed at a company that supplies equipment to isps and some other companies. they do about $30 million a year in business and are profitable (it is private and i don't know how profitable). in a position i held before a recent promotion (ok, i did get promoted, but now there is no opportunity! ;-), my shift alone did $30 million (part cost only) in less than 4 months. i walked through manufacturing and couldn't believe how little it was and the overhead such a little area supported. dinky with a capital d. well, a competitor of theirs went public this year. $15 million in revs. they have the pre-requisite loss to generate a billion dollar market cap. a $17 million loss generated a $2.5 billion market cap. so, what did you say was wrong with this market? ;-) i'm actually afraid when this company goes public that their earnings will scare away potential investors!
