Maybe its "aught" as in "naught". This decade will be known as the "naughty aughties" perhas?

I believe it was Time magazine, or one of the weeklies I read, that broached this question...asking for reader input as to what best to call the first decade of 2000.

I wonder if the folks back in 1899 were wondering about such an issue, and if so, what did they do about naming the first decade of the 1900's? Surely, there must be some precedent for this "non-unique" event.
