It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! Dan crawled out of his sickbed - he couldn't pass up such great seats. Which meant I could have BEER since I wasn't driving. THe Mavericks won, but my favorite thing -- besides yelling at the players-- is all the STUFF they do now trying to win fans. They have The Mav Man on stilts- and they shoot t-shirts into the audience and they have the Maverick Dancers, and all sorts of contests. And the halftime shows!! Tonight it was Cheerleader Finalists. I laughed so hard I spilled my beer. There are Cheerleading Schools!!! Isn't that amazing??? I admit I don't have a daughter and perhaps this would seem very logical to me if I did. But the idea of spending money to have my child learn how to do a cheerleader jump is--- mind-boggling. These were younger kids. But they did neat things like build little pyramids and then throw the top kid into the air and catch her. Well- most of the time. One group didn't and went down like a group of dominoes. But they all got up without missing a beat; it must happen a lot at this age. The fourth quarter was close, and is my favorite anyway, because they play lots of really loud, Let's Win music. Ammo and I had seen a program on the Discovery Channel today about Time. In it they made interesting mention of the fact that man keeps time on top differently from his bottom!!!! Really!!! This man said that we clap time on the 2nd and 4th beats if we are clapping, but on the 1st and 3rd if we are stomping. So of course Ammo and I had to try to reverse that all night. try it.
