VIXL and Eurologic deal....Friday November 12, 7:03 am Eastern Time

Company Press Release

Eurologic Systems and Vixel Corporation Establish
Partnership and Demonstrate Dynamic Zoning In a
SAN Environment at Comdex '99

BOXBOROUGH, Mass./BOTHELL, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 1999--

Storage Area Network Users Can Cost-Effectively

Maintain Data Storage Connectivity, Application

Integrity, and Stability For Delay-Sensitive Applications

Like Internet Streaming and Media Broadcasting

Eurologic Systems, a leading worldwide provider of innovative, high performance data storage solutions for storage area
networking, and Vixel Corporation, (Nasdaq:VIXL - news), a leading provider of Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions,
today announced they have initiated a partnership to provide interconnectivity between Eurologic's SAN-enabled data storage
systems and Vixel's hub technology.

Through this alliance, their mutual customers will benefit from a more cost-effective solution that maintains data stability and
integrity within a SAN. The companies will demonstrate the interoperability of their technologies at Fall Comdex '99.

Fibre Channel arbitrated loop is widely installed in storage networks, and, for the vast majority of storage applications, is an
efficient protocol for transporting data between devices in the network. However, for some delay-sensitive applications, such
as media broadcasting, delays of even milliseconds caused by Loop Initialization Primitives (LIPs) can cause severe disruptions
in the data transfer process.

Vixel's ''hub-on-a-chip'' technology supports a technique called dynamic zoning that enables LIPs to be isolated from one
another. Zones are created on-the-fly to isolate a particular transaction from other LIPs until the data is successfully transferred.
This process creates an environment in which bandwidth can be sustained, as the application requires it.

By utilizing Vixel's dynamic zoning hub technology, Eurologic enables its customers to obtain the sustained bandwidth they
require for applications such as Internet streaming and video, without degradation in performance or the high costs associated
with migrating to a fabric switch.

Vixel's dynamic zoning hub has been qualified by Eurologic's fibre test laboratory for interoperability with Eurologic's
Fibre-based data storage systems. Working together over the past year, the companies first demonstrated a SAN-based video
application with interconnectivity between Eurologic's Fibre-based data storage system and Vixel's technology at NAB '99 in
April of this year. The two companies plan to continue expanding this strategic alliance to deliver compelling SAN solutions to
the marketplace.

''The Vixel 2100 Zoning Managed Hub is the first Fibre Channel product to resolve Loop Initialization Primitives that are
inherent with arbitrated loops. The Vixel 2100 dynamic zoning capability offers four times the bandwidth of any other managed
hub, and with our SAN InSite(TM) Management Software, users can create zones on-the-fly which optimizes SAN
performance,'' said Arun Taneja, vice president, marketing, Vixel Corporation. ''This initiative with Eurologic provides
customers with a cost-effective migration path to greater performance, and enhances data integrity for applications such as
media broadcasting, web hosting, and e-commerce.''

Mike Stolz, Vice President of Marketing for Eurologic, said, ''Many of our customers focused on vertical markets have a
strong interest in implementing a SAN strategy. Not all of these applications, however, require the functionality of a switch and
its associated cost. By interconnecting with Vixel's leading-edge dynamic zoning technology, we are enabling our customers in
specific markets to cost-effectively implement high-performance storage configurations across a lower-cost SAN solution.''

Eurologic and Vixel will jointly demonstrate their technologies in Eurologic's booth, L161, and in the Fibre Channel Industry
Association Solutions Pavilion, Room N-250, at Fall Comdex '99 in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 15-19, 1999.
.......Michael J. Stolz, Vice President of Marketing for Eurologic, said, “Eurologic is a leader in the SAN
market. Our series of demonstrations during Fall Comdex '99 provides evidence of the momentum
SAN is gaining in the market and the leadership role Eurologic is playing in this arena. We are
providing demonstrations of not only the enabling technologies behind SAN, but also the real-life
application of the benefits of a SAN to users. We first demonstrated SAN functionality at NAB '98,
and subsequently have seen a sharp rise in interest among our customer base in implementing SANs.”
