re shorts

What about the possibility of funds releasing money to chase the runup for their year end averages. Doesn't this balance any threat of downside for the short term?

Justa,

But when would one cover from a parabolic rise? I could not tell you at this point. Moreover, there has to be an easier way to earn a buck.

I agree. There has to be an easier way.

I found Brinker's comment yesterday re: it is expensive to be out of the market when it is rising like this one very interesting. That is paraphrased from around 4:25 CST. I understand his position but it concerns me.

Also, Buffett's recent comments in FORTUNE are interesting to reflect upon again. The one point that I would raise here is that Warren has always headed to the exit early. He had to wait 4 years or so until 1973 for Mr. Market to take a breather the last time he was so outspoken. So, what does one do?

Personally, I think at some point in the near future it will be a stock pickers market not an index your way to 20% per annum. That could have an interesting result on the new era players.

I, personally, am in an investment conundrum. I just can't hit the buy button like I was doing over the past few years. BTW, sales are up for our buy buttons. Interesting, when I seem not to go through them as fast everyone else is buying them. Hmmm.

For me, I am more comfortable at a 60/40 allocation right now. The good thing is the market hasn't done much since I started raising cash earlier this year.
