Alan and Bill,

I get the environmentally unfriendly version of the web page (i.e., the paper) and I read this in the business section today. I thought the article was somewhat skewed, especially w.r.t. AMAT. I especially thought the comparison of its price as 10 times last years sales was laughable - last year was atrocious, and the current upswing will not be affected by a glut in _chips_ per se.

Why are insiders selling shares?

-To exercise options?

-To buy fabulous new homes?

-Because they know there's going to be a split?

-So they can buy Dom Perignon for New Year's?

-To diversify their portfolio?

-Because it was in the 20's _how_ long ago?

Plus, what do they mean when they talk about a glut in chips? DRAMs, CPUs, and disk drive controllers? These are not where the chip sector is going - Digital/RF/Signal processors, devices, and systems-on-a-chip are where the demand is going to be...

JMHO.

Regards,

Doug
