Sunny asked:Since many of the GG tech stocks really address mass market consumer products or services, like television or phones, do you think they will behave the way traditional High Tech stocks, like the semi equipment mfrs or chip makers, traditionally behave? I'm not sure what you mean by traditionally behave . If you mean in a cyclical nature like some of those various sectors you mentioned - I don't think the answer would return an immediate yes. However, I would presume that a certain amount of 'next generation' or 'product cycle' type S curve tornado cycles could be a strong possibility. It all depends on which gorilla stock you are talking about and what the products are for that gorilla and its target market. In historic gorilla terms, think of Intel and each generation of microprocessor that always ignites a new PC tornado. Think of Microsoft and each generation of OS. Will Qualcomm, Gemstar and Siebel face various 'next generation' and 'product cycle' junctures going forward? I think it is fair to say yes. Will they behave traditionally ? You'll have to help me out with your definition. If past history is any indication, a gorilla stock has its own behavioral science. <g>Stocks based upon technology that yield dominant market positions in market segments that are growing based upon people's desire for entertainment, convenience and company's ability to work better and more efficiently. Read that out loud and take a deep breath afterwards, Sunny. In fact, I like it so much I might use it as a vocal warm up tomorrow night before my performance. If I can get through that phrase on one breath, I know I can make it through anything I will have to sing with room to spare. <ggg> BB
