News Bloomberg.comquote.bloomberg.com Exodus Sees $600 Mln Rev in 2000, Up 32% From Previous Estimate San Francisco, California, Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Exodus Communications Inc., which maintains computers that run corporate Web sites, estimates it will have revenue of about $600 million next year, a 32 percent increase from previous estimates. The Santa Clara-based company has been guiding analyst estimates up since the end of the third quarter, and now expects 2001 revenue between $1 billion and $1.3 billion, Chief Executive Ellen Hancock said in an interview at the Bloomberg Internet Conference in San Francisco. The company also plans to add 15 data centers world wide next year, five more than it had previously planned. ``The demand is awesome,' Chief Executive Ellen Hancock told investors at the Bloomberg Internet conference in San Francisco. ``We've not seen any slow down at all in terms of demand.' Exodus, which had $52.7 million in revenue last year, has benefited as more companies like Johnson & Johnson and Inktomi Corp. house their Web site computers in Exodus' data center. Exodus has been spending to build more of the centers, as well as offer security, consulting and other services to its customers as big competitors such as Intel Corp. and AT&T Corp. enter the market. Exodus will have 22 data sites housed in 1.5 million square feet of space by the end of this year, and plans to continue expanding nationally and internationally to cities such as Austin, Texas, and Frankfurt, Germany, Hancock said. The 15 new centers planned for next year will add 2 million square feet. The Santa Clara, California-based company will also add at least 50 sales people in the next two quarters, Hancock said. The company also began a $4.5 million advertising campaign to position itself as the leader in its market against competitors such as Global Crossing Ltd. The company now wins about 75 percent to 85 percent of its bids. Exodus shares rose 10 1/8 to 103 in late trading
