Franz, the 4:1 split date has been set for 12/30 (my birthday).

Qualcomm is committed to selling the handset division. Dr. J says it will happen before the end of the year, and there are a number of bids on the table.

After the sale, Qualcomm with have it's IPR revenue stream, and be one of only four >$1B fabless semiconductor houses in the country per Dataquest. They have a number of other businesses as well, but I think semis and ipr will be their biggest cash generators in 2000.
