INTC can no longer maintain there growth through processors. With a market cap of 250 billion INTC is limited bye there size. AMD is far better from an investment perspective at this point. The underdog has a better product pure and simple. Intel Inside just does not mean much with technology changing so quickly now days. When DELL and MSFT announce they are using AMD, INTC will continue to slide.

Tony - RE: "What key alliance has AMD ever struck that significantly furthered their business plan?"

The Flash deal with Fujitsu (FASL), the Moto deal where AMD gets Moto's process technology, and the upcoming Dresden partner.

FASL is having an significant affect on the company because flash is growing significantly.

The Moto deal is also significant because AMD can use advanced technology to make the AThlon.

The upcoming Dresden partner will help lower costs.

Tony,
Sorry, I don't know near as much of the inside scoop on Jerry as you do, being so close and all.
OTOH, Going up against Intel over the years is enough to make anyone look bad. Of course you can say anyone who takes on Intel is flawed but then we have nothing to talk about...

Jim

PS...I used $.75 for the cup of coffee because I didn't want to draw the ire of disinflationist "el thrifty-o" John Dowd. <G>
