Been in Vegas for a week so I didn't see the block trades you refer to. No internet access in the rooms there...they wouldn't want you distracted from the task at hand. I did notice that the series you refer to had been unusually active the week before also. The block option trades could have been done for many reasons. Remember the option market makers will do any trade that can be offset by trading the underlying security or other options.

Nice to see that the trade generated some discussion on the thread.

Looking to possibly do some long calendar spreads as a implied volatility play for a Y2K trade. Haven't decided yet whether to make it a pure IV trade and delta neutral or to have a bullish or bearish bias. Leaning towards bearish bias.
