Sid, "My problem with this article is it does not pay attention to other growing areas of chip usage: networking equipment, cell phones, game consoles, set-top boxes and other consumer electronics." You are right! The communication sector is a 22% piece of the pie now where in the not so distant past that sector was in the teens. Set top boxes,digital TV, and communication devises are beginning to blase the trail where desk top computers use to graze. Automobiles are huge consumers of the little Si chips.
