Chuzzlewit re: The reason I want to diversify a portfolio is to minimize business risk -- that's why this risk is also called diversifiable risk. As I recall, studies indicate that with around 15 different equities different business segments eliminates around 95% of the diversifiable risk.

I would like to take the approach of diversification as you suggest but there are two problems. There are not 15 companies with the quality of Dell's management and growth. The second problem is that I do not want to take the time to know 15 companies well enough to invest in.

I guess I got spoiled with Dell.
