***Zilch*** Dead as a Dodo. The GlobalstarUSA site is good, but nothing there to suggest sales are imminent. China's site is inscrutable to people who can't read hieroglyphics but there are no flashing lights and only about 700 hits on the site [they have a counter].

This url
globalstarusa.com
shows the commercial launch coverage as well as expected coverage at the end of 1999 and at the end of 2000. It's a pdg image file in Acrobat so takes time to download - ADSL is nice! WWeb and Globalstar Constellation2 at 384kbps would make it nice too!

So, today, as it dawns around the world, those commercial launch zones should start flashing as they switch on and people start making calls through the gateways.

The globalstar.com minutes used counter will start an ever upward rise. You'd think it would be right there on the front page of the Globalstar site. The first thing you see. The proud achievement.

I guess it's only Sunday in San Jose, so they'll worry about it tomorrow, but they should realize that there are billions and billions of people over on this side of the world who are itching to make Globalstar calls. At least the Global Website could be reporting the situation as the day wears on.

Maybe with Webcasts, showing happy Globalstar customers in Beijing. Interviewing them. Watching them making their first calls. Then across Europe and finally into the American continents.

<< ***The Globalstar Sales Process Has Started*** Yes, it is morning on 15 November 1999 and today is the start of the Hard Launch following the soft launch which began on Tuesday at Telecom99 a few weeks ago announced by Mr Bernie Schwartz.>>

Hmmm. They must have forgotten to set their alarm clocks. Nothing showing at either the G* or Airtouch websites.
