Dear aj: Just for a moment let's go back to the o.t. and the Law. The Muslims may adhere, in part, to the Abrahamic Code;;;but, for sure, they do not adhere to the Judaic Law as given to Moses. Speaking of Moses, he commited murder, so i. e. did Paul if you consider being present at a stoning murder. Neither of these did God punish with an eye for an eye. For , you see, even the harsh Law of the o.t. is seasoned and sprinkled ( right Nancy ) with grace. And, speaking of that Law the weightier matters of the Law are Justice , Mercy, and Faith. Only God knows the heart and your 'conclusion' about "if" this missionary ran over the child being that the 'act' is the the only determinant,even for Muslims , takes not into account the motive of the person that pushed this child into the pathway of the car, if indeed that is what happened. Likewise , your's, mine, everyone else's, final disposition will be greatly more determined by the motive behind the act rather than the act itself. Without Christ, Christians are taught that the heart is evil beyond imagination; that is why Christ is accepted into one's "heart". And it is only by the indwelling of Christ in one's heart that a spirit of condemnation, or judgement can be replaced by by a spirit of peace and joy. Now, as to this poor missionary. I know what you are saying. With the Muslims their laws are pretty cut and dried. But I know that his fate is in in the hands of Our Lord. When I consider the amount of Justice available in the courts in this country, I don't quite fear for this man as much as some may. Perhaps we should start praying for our own Judicial system long before we assume this man will be treated with an eye for an eye mentality in the Muslim court system. In Christ.gregor
