Ha!!, I "Think" you must be an engineer without any business sense !!!!Business is to generate profit and success , which is measured by growth , revenue, and profit margin. Who said a company which built the best airplane had to be the inventor of airplan? , Just look at BA. Intel did not invent the CPU, but it is Intel which extend the idea of CPU and build the most powerful CPU today , and develop a market for it, which benefit the modern civilization and consumers. The difference between an engineer and businessman is not only the IQ, but the vision. You may know 1100 +0101 = 0001, but you do not have the vision, and talent to bring this idea into real world, then what is the good of technology ? it can't benefit anybody at all. Just look at the previous BELL LAB, it is not short of new inventions, but most of the achievements end up staying in the lab forwever. That is the difference between you and Bill Gate, that is another reason why you are a poor man , while he is rich and successful, and respected by people. Sun Microsystem had a lot of opportunity to bring the unix into the PC world before Window was even a product, but they choose not to , instead they cry to the government for help, so either the managers in Sun Microsystem did not have the vision or ability , so, who to blame ? themselves. Did you call that innovation ? My suggestion to you is go back to school to take class about what business is all about . Engineering can make you a life but can not make you success. You may have the talent to tell 1 + 1 = 10 , but you do not have the IQ to build an empire which will benefit people and the whole industry . It is easy for you to blame other people for your own failure, it is hard for you to be as successful !!!!!That is what the CEO of Sun Microsystem is doing. Blame and Blame , Cry and Cry !!!If he is a real man, then he should stop crying and blaming, but start to set up strategy to bring his company's products to the market and dominate the market . Since SUN had a crying CEO, good at blaming but short of talent + IQ and business sense, I never think SUN will be a future successful model of the American Hi Tech industry. If you want to know if the company will be a successful one or not , just look at its CEO. Sun Microsystem did not have such a CEO !!!!, so far !!!
