Hi Tony,

I hope I didn't give the impression that I think you are being pessimistic; quite the contrary. We have all held a long time and have become a little weary. You have held much longer than most.

I can't be sure of how other business operate, but....
In my days as a small distributor, when I received a huge blanket order to ship at various dates, I placed an order with my supplier for at least twice the quantity in anticipation of future orders from competitive customers. I knew I had to have the merchandise in inventory in order to make prompt shipments.

Could it be that Emerson has received nice orders from various customers but no particular order that was large enough to announce? As shareholders, we have all noticed more businesses carrying Emerson products. Having multiple customers would be very wise for Emerson. With merchandise ready for immediate shipment, the customers would be much more likely to purchase from Emerson. As you know, it is impossible for a retail business to sell "out of stock" merchandise.

Perhaps part of the Emerson turn-around plan is to give immediate delivery, thus creating a satisfied customer base.

Can you think of any other reason for such a purchase?

We will wait and see. And make big plans for Emerson Island. :)

Regards,
Marilyn
