Mike: As usual, you have hit a major point. Your post is focused on learning about emerging industries. That is a good way to put how to deal with an overall approach to investing which zeroes in on looking for potential gorillas, kings (and yes godzillas) as leaders in those emerging industries.

E commerce is probably too broad to be considered an emerging industry per se but there must be a way to usefully separate e commerce into key areas or industries. Then discussing those key emerging industries or areas within e commerce and then further discussing the leaders in them in that context.

Your front office discussions are an excellent model of how that might be done as a practical matter IMO.

(Beats trying to deal with individual e commerce stocks in isolation.)

Much appreciate your own "case study" in describing how you have proceeded in the front office area.

Respect and as always best,

Cha2

I love reading personal stories. That's how I learn best. Abstractions aren't "sticky" enough. Thanx! Jill

Maybe I'm getting off the track here, but I'm still intrigued by opportunities presented from time to time in stocks such as CAMP, VOX, etc. Non-gorillas that, at one point, were at give-away prices.

Hey Mike! Great story. Just one question: When you were doing all of this, who was running the carpet business?
