Hello Bob,

You should check out developer.novell.com - it's a free website stuffed with all the information you'll need to get started. You can register for the free electronic memebership which allows you access to software downloads, documentation and even examples.

For more details --> developer.novell.com

The difference levels you can join in at:

From no-charge Electronic access to the resource and support options of a Professional, Enterprise, Partner or Strategic subscription, there's a DeveloperNet subscription that offers the right balance of development resources, support and compatibility testing for your business.

Electronic level (Free) provides no-charge,
Web-based access to the Novell Developer Kit,
DeveloperNet resources, support forums and
co-marketing opportunities.

Professional level ($395/yr*) provides all of the
above, as well as printed or CD versions of
program deliverables and valuable live technical
support.

Enterprise level ($1295/yr*) provides
developers with more extensive, personalized
technical support, along with valuable product
marketing assistance and multiple copies of
program deliverables.

Partner level (Separate fee structure) is for
larger companies requiring unlimited compatibility
testing of a product line.

Strategic level (Separate fee structure) is
reserved for Novell's strategic development partners.

Try this link - it shows everything you get from each subscription level: developer.novell.com

Just for the record I am an electronic member of DeveloperNet - hoping that in time I can develop skills to actually develop an NDS application. If not, at least I can be involved in some ways :)
