My capital gains of $100,000 would be offset by standard deductions, dependent deductions, mortgage interest on my house deduction, and a big margin interest deduction which, in my case married with two kids would reduce my taxable income to $45,000 . So my capital gains of $100,000 minus my deductions of $55,000 leaves me with $45,000, lowest tax bracket and therefore tax rate of 10% with no social security tax. Hard to beat.
