Donkyman, regarding your question about Wi-Lan's potential price. I think one of the reason's that we haven't been bought out is the asking price. I suspect that offers have been made but the asking price has been in excess of $100/shr perhaps even $200/shr or more.

It seems to me that we are getting great exposure in Europe and the east. Because we are a Canadian company we have a lot of resistance in the US, as they find it hard to believe that anyone else can have superior technology. That resistance will weaken when the need to make $$$ becomes paramount. While CISCO talks the talk Wi-Lan walks the walk. It's only a matter of time (not long) that an offer of the right price may very well come in.

Personally I think Wi-Lan can succeed on the track they are on. We can use a good alliance with a major but personally I'd like to see my Alberta company stay an Alberta company.

dman,
You ask the 64 million dollar question. My take on this is a little different than Don's, and I hope he doesn't mind my response.
My initial take on Wi-LAN was that it could easily exceed $200/shr. That scenario was based on the premise that WOFDM might become a dominant standard in RF transmission/reception.
That may happen, still - but I think the world will wait on the results of the VOFDM trials.( Important to note here that some say the world will not wait).
With regard to to other revenue streams, and I'm speculating here, I can see Wi-LAN revenue potentially growing to $5 per share in 3-4 years, without WOFDM dominance - with a p/e of 20, that would be $100/shr. But, bear in mind that I make really conservative, safe estimates!

Some would call me chicken - my answer to that is -

Sqwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak!!

Best regards, Jim
