I agree that it would be great for Penson to offer more options for one's trading history, including a matching of buys and sells, rather than having to do it by hand. It is also a pain to wait until the next day to find out exactly what your equity is. You can estimate it to few hundred bucks in most cases, but I wish it updated at least in the late evening after the trading day rather than having to wait until the next morning though. This is a minor inconvenience however.

As far as preparing for tax time, I use Quicken and have had no problems importing my trade data from Penson. In April, I will use TurboTax to import the data from Quicken to prepare my Schedule D, so it will be relatively painless. (But keep in mind that Quicken/Turbo Tax can't handle wash sales for some reason).

After using CyberX for a couple of weeks now, I don't know how I ever suffered Datek or E*Trade or SureTrade (which was the worst by far). Datek treated me fairly well compared to the others, but I don't think I could ever go back at this point. The CyberX software will always be able to be improved in various ways, but thus far, I'm really happy with it overall.
