Market trend and trading If it is not very profitable to trade the market, does the market trend matter at all? I think it still matters. When the market trend is in your favor, you can be very aggressive: deploying large position, placing loose stop, using margin, trying to trade some patterns which are not "sure" set up, etc. If the market trend is against you, you have to be conservative: deploying small position, placing tightened stop, not using margin, being pickier for the entry point, or simply staying aside.
