Sorry, can't let this one go by. Having been involved in the high tech industry in Canada for the last fifteen years, it has been sad(criminal?) to watch a government so out of touch with reality. Gee, high tech, what's that? Must be good.Let's form some half-assed tax incentive schemes and see what sticks? Yeah, that's the ticket. Let's see if brown cows or white cows yield more milk ( this was a real SRTC tax grant). Is it any wonder in this country why our best and brightest leave in record numbers? Investment capital is almost impossible to get for any tech start-up. Terry Matthews was one of the few who has put up monies of his own to fund start-up ventures. He is the exception to this rule rather that the norm. Chretien, the king, is completely out of touch with day to day living in this country. No brain drain says he. Well, in my early days of travelling to the valley, Canadian engineers were few. Now they are in great demand and numbers. They are seen as smart, capable, and reliable. Now why do they leave....hmmmm? Well, maybe a less oppressive tax structure that actually allows people to keep more of their OWN money and lets them decide where it is best to spend it. Rather than having a clique of arrogant politicians telling us we can't have our own monies to spend the way we choose. Chretien says if you don't like it, then leave. Well, Mister high and mighty, they ARE leaving, in record numbers. If Canadians vote this pimp for boondoggle spending back in, then we deserve the hole they are digging for us ( again!). Young Canadians have listened to their parents bitch about the situation here long enough. They are now doing something about it. Too bad for us, more power to the Americans. Welcome to the future Botswana of North America. Later
