taxman, Regarding Gemstar: the price earnings ratio is 118 and future growth is said to be 35%. isn't that a high p/e for programming VCRs? Yep. what am i missing? The juicy part of their business plan which the stuff you copied from Baseline barely hints at. If you're really interested in Gemstar, you ought to take a look at their website and their 10k for starters. Look for anything and everything about interactive program guides and the advertising and e-commerce revenues associated with them. --Mike Buckley
