"A gas pipeline system will cover virtually all of Libya, from Tunisia to Egypt"

Russia / Libya Sign Agreement On Gas Pipeline - Africa News Service, Nov.12

ALGIERS - On October 26, Libya's National Oil Corporation and the Russian
company Zarubezhneftegazstroy signed a contract to build a branh of the
Khums-Tripoli gas pipeline in Libya, estimated to cost US $154 million, and
9.5m Libyan dinars (roughly US $28.5 million).

The 117-kilometre stretch of pipeline will be part of a pipeline system that will
cover virtually all of Libya, from "Tunisia to Egypt," Ahmed al-Hadi Aun, an
official from the Libyan energy committee, told Russian news agency Interfax,
after a session in Moscow of the Russian-Libyan commission on trade,
economic and scientific cooperation.

The stretch of pipeline is due to be completed by January 2001.
