Yes, IMO, it would be fair. I know the situation to which you refer and deplore the person's behavior. However, do you realize that for any later observer on a different thread, your justified animosity could be construed as "just because"?

I have pointed out several times that truth is not an absolute defense against the charge of being insulting. For example, taunting someone with a physical defect, such as a weight problem, is mean, even if the person is a blimp. The question is, is it relevant to bring up the point, and is the phrasing of the matter unnecessarily rude? Also, there is an exemption for hard teasing that is accepted as humorous....
