(OTCBB:EDIG) announced that the
e.Digital/Lucent/Texas Instruments portable digital music player
design will be featured today through Wednesday, November 17 at
Webnoize 99, an Internet music industry trade show at the Century
Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The unique design, based on e.Digital's
MicroOS(TM) file management system, will be featured on the show floor
by Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN) in Booth 73 and Lucent Technologies
(NYSE:LU) in Booth 48.
e.Digital president and CEO Fred Falk announced, "We are excited
about appearing at Webnoize with partners Lucent and Texas
Instruments. These two highly-respected companies have been
instrumental in helping us create what we believe is a groundbreaking
product in the budding Internet music industry."
Joyce Eastman, Vice President Audio Initiatives, Lucent
Technologies, said, "We are pleased that music lovers will have the
opportunity to hear the superb sound quality of ePAC in the
e.Digital/Lucent portable music player. This design combines an
attractive package and all the features customers will expect from a
high-quality portable ePAC player."
Bob McKune, Worldwide Marketing Manager of Texas Instruments,
stated, "Texas Instruments' programmable Digital Signal Processors
(DSP's) are ideal for the portable Internet audio market because they
provide support for multiple codecs within a single device. This is
the first time this unique player design will be widely shown and
customers will be able to see and hear the unit firsthand."
The portable digital music player design built by e.Digital
features Lucent's ePAC(TM) music compression technology and Texas
Instruments' DSP. The design also includes support for virtually all
known music codecs and supports several digital rights management
systems. e.Digital's design stores music files on removable
CompactFlash(TM) cartridges from SanDisk. The design is compatible
with Mac OS or Windows based PC's.
e.Digital Corporation offers an engineering partnership for the
world's leading electronics companies to link portable digital devices
to PCs and the Internet. Engineering services range from the licensing
of e.Digital's patented MicroOS(TM) file management system to custom
