To clarify, was your point that even had Apple taken some ideas from other sources, it did not prosper merely due to piracy, but through the development of those ideas, and the hard work with which it applied them to marketable products? In which case, Thurow was putting things in too cynical a matter, and Kemp was right to find his comments offensive? And, since it did not exclude the possibility of substantial influence from other sources, asserting a lineage for some of these ideas was neither here nor there? Do I have that right?
