Stand, fall, or lie down, JLA. There are degrees of nuance in every form of communication, some not present in other forms. A meeting in person is different from a telephone conversation is different from an online chat is different from a letter. In each form there are special nuances and things that can be more easily expressed than in others. Example: One Saturday afternoon I was looking forward to dinner that night with a lover. (I am not parading my love life, BTW; this information is important to the point.) We were on the telephone planning dinner. We were also in an online chat and exchanging e-mails at the same time.
