>>>>With USB connectivity, support for onboard and interchangeable flash memory, and standard MPEG-I Layer 3 codec support, this system provides the basic foundation necessary to build a digital audio player. However, beyond basic functionality, this reference system allows for the seamless uploading of additional codec support.<<<<

It sounds like it doesn't support all codecs at this time, but it could be upgraded later. Why bother? Get EDIG technology that supports all codecs NOW.

I'm no techie either, but OBJX/IOX seems to be at least a year behind EDIG in terms of establishing relationships that could possibly result in customers. However, JUSTRI is an example of a hightened interest in this market and possibility that relationships may develop more quickly than they would have several years ago when EDIG had this vision.

OBJX is just under $2.00 on volume of just 95,000.

QSound Launches Audiopix-A Rich Media
Application Linking MP3 Music Files With Digital
Images

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--

USERS CAN ACCESS FREE DOWNLOADS AT WWW.AUDIOPIX.COM TO CREATE PERSONALIZED
MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATIONS

QSound Labs (Nasdaq: QSND - news), today unveiled AudioPix(TM) at COMDEX Fall '99 in Las Vegas. The breakthrough, user-friendly product enables web users to combine images with music to create the ultimate multimedia application for the home or the office. Applications of this cutting-edge software include video-like showcases for music or film, business presentations, memories of special occasions, promotional materials and more. Automatic playback is guaranteed on either RealPlayer(TM) or Windows Media Player for all AudioPix applications. AudioPix is available free at www.audiopix.com, also premiering today.

As part of COMDEX Fall '99, AudioPix will be demonstrated at booth (KPP23) within the Kodak Solutions Pavilion (L3363) in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center,

"The launch of AudioPix comes at a time when the convergence of the PC and entertainment market has gained significant
momentum. Our software provides the entire Internet community with the tools to create a unique multi-media show that combines MP3 music with digital images for the first time,' said David Gallagher, president of QSound Labs. "The product will serve a variety of purposes for both individuals and businesses allowing them to explore their creativity and work more efficiently.'

"We are already looking to enhance AudioPix by establishing alliances and developing new features to increase the value of our product offering. We look forward to announcing these relationships as they emerge in the near future,' concluded Mr. Gallagher.

AudioPix offers an easy three-step assembly process, once the product is downloaded. First, the user is able to choose any web browser to search for licensed MP3 songs and download a song directly into the audio window. The developer then drags images from the computer desktop onto AudioPix's photo album window, to be viewed and edited as thumbnails. The software is compatible with all standard picture formats, including GIF, JPEG and BMP. After the music and images are compiled, the user is able to drag-and-drop the pictures to correspond into an MP3 stream to create their final presentation.

The project files comprising the multimedia montage are proprietary database files that keep all of the pictures, lyrics, time codes and MP3 file references in tact. The final product is an innovative marriage of MP3 and JPEG compressed technology, playable in RealPlayer or Media Player and can be sent as an e-mail attachment for ubiquitous distribution.
