Disparity in valuations

InterWorld competes with much larger players in the market, including Broadvision (BVSN: news, msgs), Vignette (VIGN: news, msgs) and Art Technology (ARTG: news, msgs).

Its shares, while running sharply higher this week, trade at a discount to its larger rivals on a price-to-sales ratio.

Broadvision is trading at 46 times estimated 2000 sales, Vignette is trading at 37 times, Art Technology trades at 38 times while InterWorld is trading at 30 times projected 2000 sales. Ahead of the announcement, shares of InterWorld ran up 6 percent on Friday.
